Sedona accommodation for 4 women?
We're leaving the husbands behind & are planning a trip through Arizona. We want to stay one night in Sedona - B&B or hotel, it doesn't matter. But is DOES have to be VERY southwestern and memorable. We can either stay in a room with 2 double beds or a 2-room suite, or even small cabin and want to pay no more then ca. $50/pp.
Thanks for any suggestions. |
I would try the Hyatt Pinon Point. I have no idea what the rates are now but they did have them at $165 for a two bedroom suite. It is a timeshare but they were offering accomodations to the public. It looks very, very nice from the outside and I am sorry we did not book this place. It looks very southwestern and is in a very convenient location. With four women I think it is really important that you have enough space and two bathrooms would be ideal.

jml: Follwoing up on Shon's reply, there is a post by OliveOyl on this forum on Hyatt Pinon Point, but it from last Thanksgiving when they first opened. However, ther eis another fodorite, Edye, who is stying there this week, starting today I think. Edye is going to post a review on this forum upon return, so stay tuned. There are alot of posts that will give you all sort of info on other nice
places to stay if you search for Sedona on here. It sound slike Hyatt Pinon wil give you alot of room though. |
sorry about the typos, i am on a laptop w/no mouse and it is driving me nuts.

Thanks for the posts Shon & emd,
I just called the hotel and they are offering a 2 bedroom for $165 because the hotel is still under construction. Regularly it will be $495. Wow! The restaurants and shops won't be open at the hotel, but I guess that doesn't really matter. We'll have plenty to do in the area. I'll be interested to hear what Edye has to say. |
I recommend the Sky Ranch Lodge. The rooms themselves are spacious and slightly southwestern but the VIEW is wonderful!
Garden view rooms start at $75 and rooms with a private deck and red rock views w/ 2 queen beds start at $150. It's set up high on Airport mesa and that's where the guide books tell you to go to view the sunset. |
Stayed two weeks ago at the Hyatt Pinon Point and loved it. My family got a one-bedroom suite with the largest bathroom/tub area I've ever seen in a hotel. The kitchen was great and dining area for six was spacious. Not every room has a great view and I was told that the rooms are assigned when the reservation is made. So, I suggest calling and trying to wrangle a good view. Otherwise, hang out at the pool at sunset for fabulous scenery without the crowds up on Airport Mesa!

If you want something memorable, I would recommend looking into Enchantment Resort. It's setting in the Boynton Canyon is incredible, like no other accomodation in Sedona. It also has a spa which might appeal to some.

I also think the Sky Ranch is great value. The views are spectacular, although I wouldn't consider it VERY southwestern in look and feel.
