Security clearance

At one point, I heard that they might institute something where frequent travelers could be pre-screened and by-pass security lines (or go into a faster one). Did that ever happen? My sister mentioned that she thought it would be worth the cost, but I've never heard for sure that it is in place.

They were doing it on a trial basis at some airports - don't know how that went or which airports. Involved fingerprints and some other clearances.

It's in place at San Francisco airport - costs $99 a year.

Thanks for the information. One of the airports mentioned where it is available is the one that we'd usually use.

It looks like my sister was right about being about to get it for $100.

We don't fly very often and haven't had many long waits, but it does sound like it will be worth it for a frequent flyer.

We saw Lou Holtz use it in Orlando.

I had to google to see who Lou Holtz was (football coach). (G)
