It really depends on a few things; such as, what time of year are you visiting Orlando, what day of the week are you planning on going to SeaWorld, how many people in your group, any of them young children?
We enjoy SeaWorld a lot, and usually spend the entire day there. If the park isn't busy, then we usually manage to see everything we want. We live in Central Florida, so we never worry about "getting everything in" because we know we'll be back.
Keep in mind that most of the attractions at SeaWorld are shows, which run on a set schedule. Half a day would only allow you to see one or two (not even half of them), and leave you little time for anything else.

thanks for quick reply.
Actually trip is for my son and his girlfriend (aged 22 and 21).They are currently in New York (on holiday from U.K) and will be arriving at Lake Buena Vista area at around 2.00pm. on Aug.18th.They are trying to gain time to visit a Disney waterpark. Will spend a total of 6 clear days (19 - 24th) in Orlando - and are trying to take advantage of first day they arrive.
I checked the closing time of Seaworld on this day (18th) and it's 10.pm so maybe they could just make it!!
or maybe they should just go to a waterpark the first day.
We've visited Orlando 3 times but Seaworld only once and to be honest because it's a while ago (a good 8 years) I can't remember how big it is.!!!
Thanks again

Given the amount of time they have, I'd say do the water park if the weather is good. We have a tropical depression in the Gulf, but it appears to be heading towards Texas.
SeaWorld has more to do at night now, but they still wouldn't see much of it. The 18th will be busy, as it is a Saturday, and it is the last weekend before some of the area schools are back in session, so the parks will be busy. By the time they get checked in, drive to Seaworld and park, it could be 5:00 p.m. It would be a shame to pay full gate admission and only see a few things. They may find they have more time for it later in the week, as the parks should be less crowded.
I hope the weather cools down for them a bit-the heat and humidity have been brutal! Hope they get some really good sunblock.

Think I agree with you on the water park idea.
Regarding weather, I know it will be stifling, I've given them all the best possible advice I could, water, indoor shows when it's hottest etc, etc, Although they flew in from the U.K.where they at University, we are actually from Cyprus (Mediterranean)and so everyone is used to the heat at least(it gets v.hot here too. Approx.29 - 33 centigrade with a lot of humidity too.....then again we tend to move from one air-conditioned place to another...work - home , swimming pool etc.)
Didn't hear about the tropical depression though.....fingers crossed it does move to Texas (apologies to all Texans out there!!)
