Seattle-what shouldn't we miss?
First time trip to Seattle coming up soon and wondered what you all might have for suggestions. We've been all over the U.S., but this is our first trip here. I'd appreciate any suggestions on sights to see and do, restaurants, etc. We're a family of 3 (one 12 year old, going on 17!) Thanks!

Try the waterfront, also the seattle center, also Pike's market, underground Seattle, there are many other things to see as well. As for a restraunant, there are some on the waterfront and some in the center. As for a theme restraunt, there is a planethollywood.Your 12 year old should like the suggestions I've made.
Randy, hopefully you'll have time to get out of the city too - take a ferry ride (anywhere), drive around the Peninsula, drive up to Snoqualmie Falls, or up to Paradise at Mt. Rainier, maybe out to Leavenworth - lots of scenic stuff to see.

Randy:
If your kid (or you) watch MTV, right next to where the Real World Seattle had their apartment, is the dock for the Spirit of Seattle cruises (~ 2-3 hours). It is very entertaining, even for kids, with meal included. Try booking it when you arrive, or check ahead through an agent.
Of course you have to check out Seattle Center - the 1962 location for the Worlds Fair! World's Fair "leftovers" are always very exciting to see, and I hear Seattle is awesome.

Here's a little blurb I got off of the Gomez site:

"The 1962 World's Fair, also known as the 'Century 21 Exposition', brought in nearly 10 million visitors from around the world for a glimpse of Tomorrow, Seattle-style. What remains of the futuristic enclave of exhibition halls, arenas and public spaces is today called the Seattle Center. Don't be surprised if it generates more nostalgia for The Jetsons than thoughts of the future."

If you want to read more, go to:
http://www.gomez.com/Travel/Tools/De...e=1&loc_id=223

->you have to type this into your address box. I do not know how to make it an active link. Sorry
