Seattle weather in July
Will be traveling to Seattle in early July. What is the weather usually like at that time of year, as in what type of clothing to pack, etc?
|
Popular legend states that summer doesn't begin here until July 5th. :)In 18 years of living here, I can tell you that is sometimes, but not always true. It may be 60s and rainy or it may be 70s and sunny, so pack accordingly.
Seattle weather is quite unpredictable any time of the year. The past couple of summers have gotten a June start and been hot and dry, but again, no guarantees. |
The first week of August in Seattle was HOT! I was spritzing with Evain as we strolled through Pike Place Market! I like to go to the PNW in the summer to get away from our horrid heat that we have in the summers in CA where we live. ***kim*** :)

I would suggest checking the weather for Seattle the week before you are set to come out for a better idea of the conditions. www.weather.com

so the original poster asks what to pack for early july, and gets the response about spritzing with "Evain" in august.....
seriously, kim, what's your point....? |
Yes, usually it is still a bit chilly in very early July. We just moved away this year and what we would wear was usually shorts. I would pack lightweight pants for colder days or the evenings, and keep a lightweight jacket with you. The evenings cool off quite a bit, so even if it is warm during the day you will most likely want something to keep you warm later.

It could be raining & 65 degrees or sunny & 90! No lie. I would pack normal summer clothes - lightweight pants, tshirts, shorts, maybe one very lightweight jacket or sweater. Sandals, sneakers, or walking shoes.

I think "mms" advice is right on. A jacket or sweatshirt is a must have.
