Seattle Waterfront Marriott Hotel
 

Has anyone stayed at this Seattle hotel? Any comments regarding rooms, service ( concierge level ), location, etc. would be appreciated.

Also any recommendations for some good restaurants within a short distance of this accommodation. Thanks.

Stayed there a couple weeks ago for one nite. Had room on 3rd floor with small balcony. Heard, but did not see Earth, Wind and Fire concert on the pier. Room was very nice, and indoor/outdoor pool was great. Had 6 yr old with us and she loved it. Can't respond to nice restaurants, since we had to do the Ivar's thing. All withing walking distance. One of NCL's ships left from right across the street that evening and of course puget sound was beautiful. Had no trouble with the train behind hotel, nor Trolley/Tram in front as has been previously reported. Didn't hear a thing. Service was very good. Hope while your there Mt. Rainier is "out".. Was for my whole trip and such beautiful weather.

we stayed there in august, and the train behind hotel can be a big problem if you are staying in one of the rooms on the end. very loud. once we moved to a room in the middle, it was fine. the trolley out front is no problem. it is a nice hotel with a good location. we were on the 7th floor, which i think was concierge level, and the service was good.

marco's supperclub was an enjoyable restaurant walking distance. anthony's right across the street was fine too. most places are walking distance. we liked the pink door near pike place as well. too many great places to choose from.

DJE -- I haven't stayed at this hotel, but if rates are comparable I recommend looking at Inn at the Market. For restaurants: The Pink Door is one of my favorites for a good taste of Seattle trend at 1919 Post Alley. Dragonfish Asian is awesome at 722 Pine. A little more expensive the Campagne at 86 Pine Street is very nice. I would recommend reservations at all. Pink Door is usually booked out at least a week on weekends. Enjoy!

Thank you all for your comments about the hotel and other recommendations. I will try and get a room away from any possible train noise. DJE
