Seattle Washington Things for Kids

We have a 3 & 4 year old and I"m wondering if anyone can tell me some fun thing to do with them in the Seattle/Mill Creek area. Someone mentioned to me pony rides for kids but now I can't recall where they said that was. Can anyone make recommendations of fun family things we can do.

The Forest Park Animal Farm in Everett (http://www.everettwa.org/default.aspx?ID=507) has pony rides and a little petting zoo as well.

The Gold Creek Trout Farm in Woodinville (http://www.goldcreektroutfarm.com/) was a big hit when my kids were little. They can rent a rod and catch a fish.

Our kids also like the Imagine Childrens Museum (http://www.imaginecm.org/), in Everett.

Of course, a ferry ride could be on the agenda. The closest one would be the Mukilteo/Clinton run (http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/sche...m?route=muk-cl).

From Clinton, its a pretty drive up Whidbey Island and there are several nice beaches - my favorite is on the north end of the island at Deception Pass State Park (http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp...deception+pass). From there you could drive across the Deception Pass bridge onto Fidalgo Island, then drive back home, via Route 20 and I-5.

Boeing's Future of Flight museum (http://www.futureofflight.org/) in Everett, might be fun too. Your kids are probably too small to be allowed on the factory tour, though.

Seattle Center's Fun Forest amusement park (http://www.funforest.com/), has some kiddie rides. The Center also has the Pacific Science Center (http://www.pacsci.org/) and the Experience Music Project (http://www.empsfm.org/), both with lots of fun hands-on exhibits.

Are you visiting or do you live there? The Mill Creek reference is why I ask since it is not a typical visitor destination. That is the area we used to live near.

In Bothell, not far from the 405 interchange, is Country Village and our kids loved going and feeding the ducks there.

If you have bikes, or access to some, the Centennial Trail in Snohomish is fun. There are some nice areas along there to stop for a picnic lunch. We used to do quite a few scout rides there and even the younger siblings enjoyed it.

Head over to the beach at Picnic Point in Edmonds.

The butterfly pavilion in the Pacific Science Center was always a big hit with the kids as well. And of course the zoo.

Gasworks Park is another place our kids loved to run around, especially with a kite on a windy day.

Thanks mms. We actually just moved here a couple of months ago from Florida so I'm trying to figure out some fun things to do with the kids an am not sure where to start

tbradford--I was guessing that was the case:) For the pony rides, look toward either Woodinville or Snohomish. There used to be several, but development has taken some so I am not sure what is left. The Everett Aquasox is a minor league baseball team and they do a lot of school nights, so lots of young kids. They give balls, etc to the kids at the entrance, and there is a grass field inside the gate that kids love to play on. The games have a real small scale feel to them and kids have a blast. In the fall, there is a really good corn maze down in old Snohomish called The Farm. Beats all the others, IMO. There is a YMCA nearby, technically in Everett but in the Silver Firs development, on Puget Park. They have an outdoor pool and great programs for kids. Lots of youth soccer, tball, etc. Take the back way in via 148th and it just takes a few minutes.
