Seattle: walking from Hotel Andra to Pike Place Market

Count me in as another Seattle-ite who never heard of Steamers! If you want good fish tacos, in a tourist restaurant on the waterfront with a nice view, I'd go to Cutter's. If you want Seattle tradition go to an Ivars.
Also count me in as a local who would never eat at or recommend Salty's. It's a bad company Christmas party banquet kind of place IMO. (Then again I made the same comment about heyday in the late 80's for the Edgewater Hotel and Kim set me straight on that one though, so who's to know?).
For thedoctor49 about The Mayflower, living here I have never stayed there so am not really qualified to comment. I just like the general feel of the place. Reminds me of an old-school New York hotel.

We were hungry after visiting the Seattle aquarium so we had some chowder and fish tacos at Steamer's. I believe they are located on Alaskan Way, right on the waterfront.
We had dinner reservations for the Flying Fish, so just stopped in for a quick bite to eat. The place was packed, inside and out with tourists. We were there in August, so Seattle was swarming with crowds, but we didn't mind.
Yes, the view is definitely a big attraction with Salty's. The ride in the limo was an added plus.
Now I've seen on Tripadvisor that Matt's in the Market and Salumi are the top places in Seattle. We hope to try both of these this summer.
We also very much enjoyed all of our breakfasts at the Six Seven which is a gorgeous restaurant, located at the Edgewater Hotel with panoramic views of Elliott Bay.
We had some really good calamari apps before dinner there one night. Very relaxing to sit out on the small deck (you are actually ON the water at this property) and watch the ferries glide by. ***kim***
