Seattle to Victoria in January
We'll be in Seattle in January and wanted to take a short overnight trip to Victoria. However, the Clipper ferry that is generally referenced as the way to get from Seattle to Victoria is not running from January 5th to January 15th and we will be in Seattle right in the middle of those dates!
Any ideas on alternate routes to Victoria from Seattle? We do have access to a car if necessary... Thanks! |
The best alternative is to drive to Port Angeles and take the Coho ferry. Here's the info on that one:
http://cohoferry.com/main/?Fares The drive takes a couple of hours. You have to take a commuter ferry as well from downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island. It's a lot longer trip, unfortunately. You might want to stay two nights, if you go this route. |
Alaska Airlines has 5 flights a day from Seattle to Victoria. Total flying time is 45 minutes, but it seems a lot less.

Gardyloo gave you the best advice. We did this several years ago and it was great. It was in summer, the weather was clear and looking down at the San Juans was so beautiful. You're not going in summer, but imagine the adventure could be just as good as we experienced.
