Seattle to Vancounver - train or bus?

We are 2 adults and 3 children travelling from Seattle to Vancouver. Do you recommend train or bus?
Thanks, Clau

The train is a heck of a lot more fun.

However, the track is often closed due to mud slides and, when it is, those who booked tickets on Amtrak find them selves traveling on a bus!

The 7:40 AM train. The next 3 trips are by bus and the evening train does not get to Vancouver until 11 PM.

I've ridden the Amtrak bus a few times on this route. Make sure all your passports are in order or you might have a problem getting back into the US.

When friends "take the train" Seattle to Vancouver it seems they are on an actual train going up, but usually a bus coming back. I'm not sure if that's about time of day or what.

We came back to Seattle (from Vancouver) by train - and it was an actual train. There were bus options also. With children I'd definitely take the train. It was very scenic and you can get up and walk around, go to the snack car, etc.

If the tracks are open, the train is by far the best choice. Excellent views for much of the trip.

The morning train from Vancouver to Seattle leaves at 6:40 AM.
The next three trips are by bus and the evening train gets into Seattle after 10PM.
If you can get up and to the train station by 6:30AM for your return trip you're doing good. Otherwise, you'll be riding the bus anyway.
