Seattle-Tacoma Airport to downtown Seattle
My wife and I are going to Seattle next week, staying at the Radisson downtown. I know there is a light rail line that serves the area, but my wife usually packs an ENORMOUS bag. Mine will be smaller, but still fairly hefty. Is that a hassle on the light rail, or would it be worth it to take a taxi? According to World Taxi Meter we'd be looking at around $40 - does that sound about right?

I'm not aware of any Radisson properties downtown, only the airport. Can you clarify?

You're right, sorry it was the Renaissance. Madison & 5th, I believe.

The Renaissance is at the top of one of the steepest hills in Seattle - former cable car stop (Seattle had them, too, just like SF.) From the nearest light rail station it's around 4 blocks (the hotel is really at 6th and Madison) but very vertical blocks at that, so I'd take a taxi or (better) towncar from the airport - flat rate of $45.
Bags are also troublesome on the light rail - it was designed as a commuter service, not an airport train. |
Exactly what I wanted to know Gardyloo, thanks very much.
