Seattle Springhill Suites

Can anyone tell me about Marriott's SpringHill Suites Seattle Downtown, 1800 Yale Avenue. Is it a good location? Is it near the train that everyone talks about? What about Pikes Market? Any thing will help. This was very reasonably priced so I hope it work out. Thanks.

I haven't a clue to what you're looking for except to tell you of our experience at the Marriott SpringHill Suites in Pensacola. Seven of us spent Christmas week there visiting family members in the area.
The place was empty. But we had a blast! The accommodations were great but the manager and staff were terriffic. We had complete run of the place. The continental breakfast was more than just a continental breakfast and the small bar was very accommodating.
In short, we all had a really good time. This was our first stay at a Marriott SpringHill Suites but it won't be our last.

The Seattle SpringHill has one negative review on Tripadvisor.com, but my office staff had a party there last week and liked it.

I just got this hotel on Priceline. I am fairly familiar with downtown Seattle, but I don't think I've visited this spot before. With the aid of the King County Transit Planner I've determined that the spots we are planning to visit are quite convenient by bus:

I'd be happy to hear about what the neighborhood is like at night, etc.

On the northern edge of downtown, in a rather trafficky area. Not a long walk to the downtown action, maybe 10 min., but I'd probably want a car.

I don't know of any safety issues in the area, aside from being massacred by a commuter hell-bent on getting on the freeway. In that regard, try for a room with a Space Needle-facing (rather than an Interstate 5-facing) view.

This is a really nice place, better than the standard 2*, I think. There is a shuttle to take you to central points, and there are also numerous bus routes within about a block radius (at different stops). I don't mind a more central location, but this location was not a problem at all.
