Seattle rain

I've just begun "Burn," by Nevada Barr, and she describes what passes for rain in Seattle perfectly: "....drizzle so fine it hadn't the initiative to fall but must be harvested by passers through..." Of course, the story is set in New Orleans, but the description is apt.

I work in Seattle and lived for a time in New Orleans. It sure does not capture rain in New Orleans.

Bob, that is a great description of the rain here. Sometimes it almost just sits in the air, precipitating on your skin as you pass. We truly live in the clouds on occasion.

That was what my son said ... the air is just wet .. No wonder it is so amazingly green and beautiful .

This is interesting perspective to those who have always lived in Seattle, save for a few 20-minute torrential downpours experienced (and making us stop) on Philadelphia freeways and in North Carolina coastal communities.

Some assure that the air is often more damp here too, when it rains.
