Seattle/Portland Advice

I am going on a week long vacation with my husband to Seattle, the coast, and then Portland at the end of the month. I would love any suggestions for vineyards, hot springs, places to see, things to do - all keeping in mind we're on a tighter budget.

We've got some ideas, and plan on spending 2 nights in Seattle, 2 along the coast, and 3 nights in Portland. And advice would be greatly appreciated!

So far we're definitely going to the Space Needle and Pike Place Market in Seattle, and not much is set in stone for Portland other than the Japanese Gardens, Multnomah Falls, and the gorge.

There is tons of info on both these cities..
do a "search" onthis site..
type --Portland,OR and then click on "general interest"to left AND scroll down and click on "Oregon"
Do same with Seattle WA.
Great info --

before you respond - be careful to check the dates on the posting that come up, often they are older ones. but the information is invaluable.

In the wine country, Torii Mor, Sokol Blosser, and Ponzi are all great places to wine taste. If you'r on a tight budget, you probably won't want to pay $10/tasting for Archery Summit, but if you decide to splurge, this is an amazing place to taste some of the best Pinot Noir in the area. :)

Carlton has some good places, the Winmaker's Studio is fun, you can taste several different wines here and Scott Paul is a small, boutique winery with excellent wines. Cheers! ***kim*** ((#))

Do you have reservations yet for places to stay? I ask because even the end of this month is high season here and so if you don't have those lined up yet, I would do that asap. Knowing where you will be staying on the coast will help for suggestions.

I agree about doing a search, and especially about checking posting dates and such. Restaurants and such change frequently here, for instance.

If you need suggestions on places to stay, if you could give us an idea of what you want to spend that would help.

For hot springs, there is Carson Hot Springs in the gorge so that could easily be done as a combo day trip.

Do you need ideas for in the gorge, things to do places to stop?

I know, I am full of questions, lol! But I hate to throw out ideas without knowing what you are looking for.
