Seattle-Pikes Place Market
Hi. I live in Olympia and have some friends visiting from Texas. They will be spending the late afternoon/early evening checking out Pikes Place Market and are interested in
Italian. Any suggestions? Thanks. |
Are they looking for upscale Italian in the Market? If so, then Il Bistro is a great choice. If they want something more casual, the Pink Door.
|
Exactly! Il Bistro or Pink Door are both right in the Market. Assagios is nearby up on 4th and is wonderful. I'm not sure Il Bistro is open at lunch or only dinner? Also Delaurentis Italian market & deli has fantastic foods to take out, right near the 'pig' in the Pike Place Market.

Hi. Thanks for your replies. I looked at the places online and they are a bit fancy. I forgot to mention that I am looking for a casual place good for kids and adults.
|
I don't know anything Italian that fits that description in the Pike Place Market, besides take out at DeLaurentis.

Okay, Olympian... <b>Pike</b> (Place) Market, not Pike<b>'s</b> anything. Kiss, kiss... ;)
The P-I did a big article yesterday on the new chef at the Pink Door. Since the only (minor) drawback in my mind in the past was okay, not great, food, it sure sounds like a return visit is in order big time. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/food/320737_rest22.html |
Whoa. There's not much to check out at the market in the late afternoons and evenings. It kind of rolls up around 4 pm. Pink Door will be open, but many of the 'street eats' restaurants close.
Can you rearrange your schedule to do the market in the morning or early afternoon? |
Good point!! The Market pretty much up closes by 5:30pm. Nothing to check out come evening, all the vendors are gone... other than the restaurants and walking thru an empty market place.

There used to be a Olde Spaghetti Factory on Elliot AVE waterfront not far from Pike Place otherwise you could try BellTown
