Seattle- one night to eat-where?

My husband and I are trying to make the most of one night in Seattle. Would like to eat some great Pacific Northwest food in a nice atmosphere. Price not a problem. Two choices I have in mind are Etta's or Dahlia's. Any suggestions? Thanks for your input.

I prefer Etta's to the Dahlia Lounge. I've eaten at Etta's a few times and everything has been wonderful.

Not a big Tom Douglas fan here, so instead of those two I'd suggest Matt's in the Market, Chez Shea, Campagne (all three in/near the Pike Market); Elliott's (on the central waterfront) for excellent fish; Asaggio (Italian); or Rovers or Lark (cab/car needed.) Of the above, I think Matt's would be the best choice for small, intimate, fun place.

Lots of opinions here or at the Pacific NW board at chowhound.com - a short search will reveal all.

Another good possibility for Northwest food is Cascadia or, for fish in a lively atmosphere, the Flying Fish.

If cost is truly no object, I think the best restaurant in Seattle is Mistral. The Douglas chain (Etta's, etc.) is good but no where near the best the city has to offer. I also suggest Chez Shea

Gardyloo had some great suggestions but if price isn't an issue, also consider Mistral, Rovers or Union.

Here are some fun threads with photos from egullet.com to help you decide. You can read much more on all of the restaurants mentioned here in the PNW forum at egullet.

Union: http://tinyurl.com/egu24

Mistral (halfway down the page-LOTS of pictures): http://tinyurl.com/mbdjy

Lark (no pics, just recent reviews): http://tinyurl.com/mzn9q

Rovers: http://tinyurl.com/npr8f

Matt's: http://tinyurl.com/mycjc

I don't think Etta's or Dahlia are bad picks, they just aren't where I'd go for my one meal. At one time these would have been outstanding picks but the restaurant scene here is so good now, you have better options.

Thanks for all of your advice. I guess I should have mentioned that I have a gift certificate to eat at one of the Tom Douglas restaurants. Trying to choose between the four. Thanks again!
