Seattle next week...

My husband and I (along with two friends) will be in Seattle from Wed. to Sun. next week and are looking not only for the "must see touristy things" but also the best local restaurants, etc.

Will be staying at the Renaissance..

Any info you can give will be of great use!

Thanks

P.S. we're flying in from Miami so it's going to be a LONG flight.
Dig up one of the recent threads on Seattle - lots of suggestions there.

Long flight, Miami to Seattle? Ha ha, never flown international eh? Try flying Tel Aviv to NYC (14 hours?), and that's not as long as some Pacific flights.

Andrew
Agree there are many suggestions on recent threads for Seattle...someone told us last evening there is a new restaurant "Buenos Aires" that was booked when they tried to get in but is supposed to be great. Oceanaire has gotten good reviews and that same person had a fish taco there to die for.(She's in the food industry). Depending on where you want to go there are many choices..I'd say look at Dahlia Lounge, Campagne and Cafe Campagne,Flyisng Fish,Metropolitan Grill. Check out the market(Pike), walk around Pioneer Square..look for Salumi for lunch while you are there. The Seattle Art Museum is a nice managable space to see. Think about taking the high speed ferry to Victoria for the day and definitely visit the Royal Museum there if you go.

Campagne is TERRIFIC- make reservations before you leave Miami--

Campagne is terrific but also you need to dress a bit better there than say at Dahlia or Flying Fish.

Seattle is pretty casual for all but the most expensive restaurants.

If you really want to do what the locals do take advantage of the 25 for $25 promotion that is going on right now. Select restaurants have a $25 prix fix menu. This would be good for you on Wed and Thurs. night. This is the last week:

www.nwsource.com/dinearoundseattle/
