Seattle - Looking for a dark corner in a romantic restaurant...or?

I live in Seattle so I know there are tons of great places to eat. But does anyone have an especially romantic place to recommend? Either dark and private or with awesome view or...? Any ideas welcome! He likes Italian or steak, I like everything. :)

Thanks!

How about Canlis?

That is a great suggestion. I haven't actually ever eaten there myself and have always wanted too. :)

Anyone else?

Il Bistro for Italian, or a booth at El Gaucho for steak.

I second El Gaucho, but when I ate at Il Bistro it was extremely noisy, which I didn't associate with romantic. Was that your experience NWWanderer?

Il Bistro was what first came to my mind too. Now I'm curious to hear of recent experiences since I haven't been in awhile.

How about Chez Shea?

HTTY--I find the bar can be quite noisy but I guess I've been lucky with where I've been seated for dinner--it always feels like I'm in a romantic, cozy little candlelight alcove when I've eaten there.

Thanks everyone. This is giving me some good ideas. It sounds like El Gaucho would be the place if I'm leaning towards steak, which would probably be his first choice. :)

I was thinking maybe Maximillians, but I was with a group of women, not DH, so it's hard to judge, but the setting and food were good.

How come you haven't signed up for our Seattle GTG? While Wanns may not be considered "romantic," it does have good food and a good happy hour? Check it out at about listing 80 something (or click on my name and you'll get there). I might even be able to think of a few others by that time. :D

artlover -- Hey, I didn't know there was a GTG coming up in Seattle. Thanks, I'll check out the link!

We had a romantic dinner at Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union and thought the view of the marina from the patio (heated in case it's cold) was nice. There is a piano bar with fireplaces for an after dinner drink too.

Daniel's Broiler down on Lake Washington in Leschi is very nice also.

Thanks for reminding me about Daniel's on Lake Washington. It is a great Seattle restaurant in a wonderful location.
