Seattle--Inn at the Market--Which room
For the price I was thinking the standard room looked fine but wondering if that is on the lower floor where the street/market noise might be heard. The water view obviously gets you higher up. For two nights the price difference is $250. Is it worth it.

We faced the street [can't remember what floor, but not too high up] and with the doors [french, but no balcony]closed, there was no noise.
The room was small but nice; we didn't like the tempurpedic beds though. There is a really nice roof top patio that everyone can use and it faces the harbor. Debi |
Actually, the difference is more which way you face--east or west. Market or courtyard view rooms are lower down on the west side. City view (standard) rooms face east toward First Avenue and can be on any floor--the higher up you are the less street noise but you're still going to get some facing towards First.
Personally I would stay elsewhere unless you can spring for at least a market view room but it is a great location even if you are facing First. |
I so agree. The best reason to stay at Inn at the Market if to have a view from your room--if you don't, you'd be better off elsewhere.

Another vote for either getting a view room or choosing a different hotel. I only know the place from the outside (I work a block away) and I wouldn't give the prices they get for a room facing 1st Avenue.
