According to biddingfortravel.com, there have been few reports of folks hitting the Hyatt on PL since before the first of the year. The Sheraton and Westin seem to be coming up more often in the 4* area.

Two things to do IMO: first, book a room that you can live with if you can't find a PL room, but make sure you can cancel without penalty. Second, keep trying PL, and allow yourself to go to $80 or even $85. You'll still be below even the cheapest outlying motel. Many hotels don't release rooms to PL until a little closer to the booking date; in your case I'd really hit it around the middle of March or even the last week or so, when the hotels will know more about their projected occupancy during your stay.

Amys, if you haven't already, follow the instructions on the BFT FAQ and post a request for bidding assistance there in the Seattle Hotels section. They will help you bid. However you will be asked to fill out the bidding form so you might as well do that ahead of time before posting - that's the first thing they'll ask you to do.

The most important thing is finding advertised rates at likely PL hotels on the dates you are staying. If that's a busy weekend, chances of getting the same deals others got are slim. As Gardyloo says, some hotels don't give PL inventory til late in the game. That's always been true for me - I have gotten great PL deals at the last minute.

Andrew
