Seattle Hotel/Marriott

How is the Marriott Waterfront? Looking for a nice higher end hotel with great views.

It's a nice place, but if a waterfront view is your prime concern, book at The Edgewater.

The Marriott is across a busy street from the waterfront. The Edgewater is built on piers over the water. Neither are super convenient to the retail/office core of the city; the Marriott is a bit closer to the Pike Market. Both are walking distance (as in, like a few steps) from the Pier 66 cruise terminal, which means good convenience or a PITA on summer Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons (traffic.)

I stayed at the Marriott 2 years ago and thought it was nice. Easy to walk across the street and explore the waterfront, on the free bus/trolley line, good restaurant in the hotel (Fish Club), our room had gorgeous views of Mt. Rainer and the sound/ferries.

I don't think it is REALLY hi end, for that I would look into the Fairmont, W or even Inn at the Market I think

The hotel looks nice enough but it's location is wedged in between the train tracks and the very busy 4 lane street along the waterfront.

It is not convenient to downtown (~10-15 city blocks walking). And don't think I'd call it "higher end" necessarily. It does have a fabulous 1/2 indoor & 1/2 outdoor pool with huge patio and lounge chairs. I'm sure some rooms must have water views, but the hotel sits kind of low, so you'd get as good or better from any high rise hotel building in downtown.
