Seattle Hotel Advice

We're going to spend one night before and one night after a cruise, in Seattle in July. I just started looking around on-line and found three hotels that look interesting and inexpensive. Can anyone comment on the Moore Hotel (near Pike's Market at 2d and Virginia), Commodore (2013 2d Avenue) and Sixth Avenue Inn at 6th and Virginia. Thanks any one for your input!

I was in seattle on business a few weeks ago. I booked the Sheraton on Hotwire for 91/night. Its 2x that much regularly.

Nix on the Commodore and Moore - old places located on an icky stretch of 2nd, too much street life. The Sixth Avenue might be okay (very mixed reviews) but there are way too many hits below $75 for 4-stars (Sheraton, Hyatt, Westin) in downtown on Priceline.com to warrant taking a chance.

Thanks. I've seen so many recommendations to use priceline. I never have before but i think i'll give it a try!

Last year we used priceline and stayed at the Sheraton Downtown for $80 a night. We were a 5(?) block walk down to Pike's market.

Stayed at 6th ave, basic hotel, clean, great for budget travelers. Within walking distance to monorail. Great (inexpensive) restaurant downstairs with a fireplace, outstanding service. I think I made reservations through Expedia, it was cheaper then the hotel's website.
