Seattle Four Seasons Hotel; Yes or No?
 

Will be attending a military reunion in Seattle and dragging the Husbear along with me. Total of three nights. He'll be pretty much on his own and reliant on public transport/taxi to get around. The hotel looks to be in a convenient location and also has a pool. He'll want to do some exploring on his own but also will enjoy being in a comfortable quiet accommodation.

Have looked at other properties including the Marriott, Hotel 1000 and wondering if anyone here could offer some positive or negative thoughts as to my choice.

Timeframe is August 2014.

Yes. It is a lovely hotel. The location downtown is perfect.

We love The Alexis hotel. It would cost much less and is in a great location too.

If I had the option of staying at the Four Seasons I'd jump at it and not give it a second thought. Perfect location, probably the best hotel in Seattle by a wide margin.

If you are open to other choices, I would also look at Inn at the Market. It is sort of the original high-end boutique hotel in Seattle. The location in the market could be a plus or a minus depending on your viewpoint.

We've stayed at Inn at the Market too. A few years back. Location is IN the Market, but that wasn't an issue. They had [don't know if they still do] Tempurpedic mattresses and we HATED sleeping on it.

Four Seasons is fabulous. Since you can afford it, stick with that choice. Excellent! And yes it's a perfect location, right on 1st Ave, in between The Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square.

I only meant that I think Four Season is the best hotel, I'd pick it over Alexis or Inn at the Market or Hotel 1000. Sorry if somehow my post seemed insulting.

Beautiful photo, Gardyloo. However, when I looked out the window toward Puget Sound I recall seeing a big Public Storage building and and unsightly power generation station of some kind. Perhaps I've got my hotels mixed up.

One other hotel I think it unique and plenty classy is The Sorrento. But it's location is a titch outside downtown core so not conveniently walkable.

I've never seen rooms at Four Seasons, but often go to the excellent Fran's chocolate shop in the lobby and have been in the bar (lol). I just don't see how you could go wrong with this choice.

I can't think of what "big Public Storage building" or "unsightly power generation station" HTTY could possibly be talking about. Downtown? From a window of the Four Seasons hote? You sure??

No, the Public Storage building is there on Western, and the Seattle Steam plant just to the south. You need to look <i>over</i> them. Are you saying your room view of the water was obscured by those buildings?
