Seattle for 5 days; downtown hotel; no car
We'll be there March 12th (packing for the weather)
What are the best downtown restaurants for seafood? What are the best NON-STARBUCKS coffee shops downtown? How is the best way to get from the airport to downtown? We're planning the underground tour 1 day and ferry to Bainbridge (or is Bremerton better? ) another day. Perhaps Experience Music Project... any other ideas? Even though not staying on the water and no car, we're desperate to be by the water, where can we eat by the water? |
The light rail will get you from the airport to Seattle.
http://www.portseattle.org/Sea-Tac/P...c-Transit.aspx There is a "free zone" bus in the core of downtown. There are at least 3 hostels in Seattle for cheap lodging. The Green Tortoise Hostel is across the street from Pike Place Market. There are several seafood restaurants on the waterfront to the west of Pike Place Market. |
Elliot's Oyster House and Waterfront Seafood Grill are two good seafood restaurant on the waterfront. Also good, on the waterfront, and somewhat less expensive, is Bell Street Diner.
Blueacre Seafood and Shuckers are two good downtown fish restaurants. Almost all of the downtown restaurants do a good job with seafood. The ferry to Bainbridge is a better choice than the one to Bremerton. Here are a few more sightseeing ideas: Pike Place Market The Space Needle Chinatown (International District) Seattle Art Museum Olympic Sculpture Park Woodland Park Zoo Safeco Field Science Fiction Museum Seattle Aquarium Argosy Locks Cruise HTTY |
