SEATTLE--FOODIE REQUESTS HELP.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
We travel extensively, domestic and internationally, and has been many years since being in Seattle. Would appreciate some suggestions on the best "quality" seafood restaurants in Seattle. From hole in the wall to all the above. We enjoy quality but want the options of a wonderful seafood city. Will go to Pike Place but looking for the real options. Would appreciate all suggestions of any other quality restaurants of any cuisine in Seattle also. We love quality food and look forward to our visit. We are staying in city using points but will get to any area if you think it is that good !! If anyone wants any recommendations from me from other areas, please ask. Thanks for your help in advance !! James |
I had the best mussels ever at Place Pigalle. Kind of hidden in Pike Place Market. Address is 81 Pike St. Nice view of Puget Sound.

When are you coming and how long will you be here?

We will be in Seattle for 3 full days and 4 nights. Look forward to
the trip. Thanks for the info. "suze" we are picky so will work through it. Wildginger really looks great from this vantage point as I lived in Thailand and traveled S.E. Asia for 2 years. Thanks !! |
I asked "when" because the offerings in many good restaurants will vary according to the season. Fresh salmon in February is going to be scarce, oysters might or might not be on some menus at certain times of year, and so on.
A couple of places to look at - Elliott's Oyster House, on the central waterfront. Many (me included) think it's the best fish/seafood in town - http://www.elliottsoysterhouse.com/ Taylor's - several locations. http://tayloroysterbars.com/ Also remember that Seattle has a huge Asian population, and fish/shellfish features prominently on many menus. |
I love Wild Ginger. Their food is fresh, creative and the physical space of the restaurant is really nice too.
As far as simply getting fresh seafood, I think any of the Seattle seafood restaurants would work. But I'm not sure they would fit your "foodie" request. All the places like... Ivar's, Elliott's, Anthony's, etc. |
