Seattle Fly in and Cruise
My Husband and I and another couple have a Cruise to Alaska out of Seattle planned for Sept 2021. What is the best place to stay that will shuttle us to and from the airport and cruise terminal and what is the most economically wise way to book it? We plan to arrive at least a day before the cruise boards and stay a night after we return so we will need to book somewhere to stay. If you have a favorite hotel or even a VRBO or AirBNB. Any advice on cruising out of Seattle is appreciated

Moved to USA Forum and tagged for Washington.

Our place to stay in Seattle is the Mayflower Park Hotel downtown. Centrally located, nice bar, friendly staff. We were 3 adults traveling and stay in a deluxe double queen room: 2 queen beds, a separate parlor, and 2 bathrooms.

If you're looking for free shuttles from airport to hotel and hotel to cruise terminal, there aren't any. Most airport hotels have free shuttles but you'll need to pay to get downtown, or from downtown to the dock.
Which cruise terminal (there are two) will you be using? |
Do you know about Cruise Critic? You need to join to post on the Boards such as
https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topi...areas-to-stay/ but they also have information about various ports Seattle https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruiset...l=52#question2 |

Sorry but no one offers this. For two separate dates of a one-night stay, I think a hotel works much better than AirBnB or VRBO private rentals. Mayflower Park has been excellent for decades. I'd list some other hotels but because of the pandemic my usual recommendations may not be current. Sadly a bunch of hotels have closed their doors. Maybe check in closer to the dates of your trip next year? |
Good question for cruise forum. Lots of cruisers have done Alaska multiple times, so would have good advice about convenient hotels.

Actually IMO this sort of question (especially about a huge place like Seattle) really has nothing to do with a 'cruise' really. Since SeaTac is so far from the cruise terminals the question is really about accommodation in/near downtown Seattle. Locals would be a great resource about transport and the hotel situation in Seattle. We still don't know which dock they are using.

I agree this is more about Seattle hotels than cruising, but too much is in flux right now to answer. September 2021 is a long way in the future as far as trying to predict what may be going on. Or in the big picture if Alaskan cruises will even be happening then. These are unpredicented unpredictable times!
