Seattle area - gardens in September

I am visiting DD and have been to Butchart Gardens and Bellvue -- any other suggestions of gardens to visit in the fall? Is there a Octoberfest celebration or other fall event?

Leavenworth, WA, reputedly has the biggest Octoberfest outside of Germany: http://www.leavenworthoktoberfest.com/

The garden in Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, BC, is always worth a visit: http://vancouver.ca/parks/parks/queenelizabeth/

In Seattle, the Japanese Garden is a special place to visit in the fall: http://www.seattle.gov/parks/parkspa...nesegarden.htm

Lakewood Gardens, near Tacoma, may also interest you: http://www.lakewoldgardens.org/

All of the Arboretum (where the Japanese Garden is located) is worth seeing. It's a huge park.

Volunteer Park has a nice layout and a historic plant conservatory that's free (donation) to visit.

The new Olympic Sculpture Park is interesting.

None of these are exactly formal "gardens" like you asked about, but beautiful places to see.

Thank you happytrails and suze for the reply. I think DD will enjoy the sculture park and I have heard of Lakewood Gardens so maybe this trip I can make it out that way.
