Seattle and the sea

Hi! We must go to Seattle in July.
We can spend 3-4 days and then we would like to go somewhere close where we are going to be able to swim in the ocean.
Please, advise.

Also is that true that Seattle does not have beaches? Because it is too cold during the year?

Has Seattle moved?

Since when has Seattle been part of Europe?

Are you taking your daughter with you, or leave her at home in search for "young love"?

GroupTraveler Dec 17th, 2008 11:29 AM

Sorry, I misplaced the post.
I am taking her, Faina.
She is the main reason we are going.
How did you know - it is to introduce her to a son of the family friends who visited a while ago. We wish they knew each other better. And we have a reason to go -so it is a perfect time!

Seattle does have swimming beaches, but they are on the lake, not Pugeet Sound.

GroupTraveler Dec 17th, 2008 11:32 AM

Exuse me what is Pugeet Sound?
I had never been there yet. Thanks

You need to look at a map.

Puget Sound is the body of water that Seattle is located on. Seattle is NOT on the Pacific Ocean.

You can swim in the Sound at Alki or Golden Gardens. But most people swim in Lake Washington because it's warmer at Madison Park, Madrona, Leshi, or the Arboretum.
