Seattle 4th of July Itinerary, pls help...
 

Hello Everyone,

I am excited about my upcoming trip to Seattle next weekend. I'm a solo traveller and arrive in Seatlle on Thursday, staying at the Westin on 5th Ave. This is my planned itinerary. All comments are appreciated as I'm not sure if this is a doable thing or if I should do more/less.

Thursday - arrival into SEA-TAC, shuttle to hotel. This afternoon/evening will be reserved for relatives.

Friday:
*Pike Place Market
*Underground Tour
*Smith Tower Observation Deck
*Pioneer Square, walk around with a visit to the Glass House Studio
*Walk to Waterfront, visit the Aquarium and then take Ferry to/from Bainbridge Island. Do I have to get off the Ferry or can I ride r/t. If I do get off, what is there to see/do on Bainbridge Island?

Any dinner recommendations for solo traveler on Friday evening that is moderately prices.. under $50

Saturday (July 4th):
*Space Needle (plan to purchase the Day/Night ticket)
*Olympic Sculpture Park
*Beer Festival in Seattle Center
*Space Needle during the evening, possibly to see the fireworks from Lake Union (is this something that is do-able)

Sunday:
Breakfast at Cafe Champage (or is there any other recommendations?)
Travel back to airport

That's quite a heavy schedule on Friday. You do have to get off the ferry on Bainbridge, would you consider having dinner there?

Have you researched the availability of tickets for the Space Needle for the fireworks show? Seems like those would be pretty hard to come by this late in the game. Most people view the fireworks from Gasworks Park, on Lake Union.

Sunday: it's Cafe Campagne.

You have to get off the ferry when you arrive at Bainbridge Island, but you can get back on for the return trip (which is free).

The town of Winslow is a short walk from the ferry. There isn't much to do there except to have a meal. Cafe Nola is considered the best place to eat.

There are many dining options near the Westin.

You're ferry ride questions already answered... yes you must get off, but you can either get right back on, or walk up to the "main street" where there's some shops and cafes, and wait and catch a later ferry back.

Cafe Campagne is an excellent choice for breakfast. Bacco is also very nice and same basic location.

I also would encourage checking on the Space Needle on the 4th. I would be surprised if that was available as you described. Staying at the Westin, why not ask for a room on a high floor & that faces Lake Union. That would be one of the more spectacular places to view the show around!

Any of the Tom Douglas restaurants are nice, and I feel comfortable solo... Dahlia Lounge, Serious Pie, Lola's, Etta's Seafood (and Palace Kitchen already mentioned).

Assagio's on 4th is a nice italian restaurant that I enjoy. Two hotel restaurants that are good are Andaluca's at Mayflower Park and Brasserie Margeux at the Warwick. Oliver's, the lobby bar at the Mayflower, is another comfortable place to go alone for a drink & a bite to eat.

I did just call the Space Needle and they are closing down at 9pm on the 4th and then opening back up at 9:15pm for special ticket holders which are $40 (just in case anyone is interested). I think I'm going to just go to Space Needle during the day and try to get a room facing Lake Union (as Suze suggested). I hope I get lucky with that but being that it is a Priceline room I'm not holding out too much hope for requests.

I'll research the restaurant suggestions. All sound good.

I'd go to Matt's in the Market for dinner. They have a counter which is nice if you're solo. You might call and reserve a seat--it's popular.
