I'm getting ready to take a trip to Seattle and I'm wondering if the Boeing Tour is worth the time and money? I have three tean aged boys. If you have other suggestions for places to see, I'd love to know about them.

I think it's worth the money, especially since the tour now includes the 787 line. There are some pretty cool exhibits in the Future of Flight center (where the tour begins) as well.

On the same topic, the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field in Seattle (www.museumofflight.org) is fabulous too - not to be confused with the Boeing tour, which is in Everett.

We are "locals" and did the factory tour with one teen (girl) and 4 visiting adult children over Thanksgiving weekend. It was great---everyone liked it. The "Future of Flight" museum that you visit first has a number of interesting exhibits, including a real 727 cockpit that you can sit in and play with the controls (it won't take off, don't worry).

The tour itself is very different from what we did when I last toured in 1989 with my then 10-year-old. Then it was lots of stairs and catwalks over the 747 assembly areas. Now, they have a large viewing platform looking out to the 777 and 787 areas, with a guide to explain everything. They hope to complete the first 787 one of these days soon; if you time it right you might be close to "roll out" and its first flight.

The Museum of Flight is also great. If they are interested in aviation, you could do both--they are very different.

Definitely worth it - the sheer size and overwhelming scale of the hangers is enough to wow any kid. I wish I could have walked the floor. Viewing platform is ok.
