Seating at Safeco Field
Will be going to a Mariners game later this year and was wondering if anyone had seating recommendations (we've never been). Not necessarily looking for most or least expensive, just the best view of the field.

At other parks, we usually sit in the infield or view sections, and prefer moving to a higher section closer to the field rather than pay more for lower seats in a higher row. Make sense?

We go to a lot of A's and Giants games, if anyone has questions about seating in those parks. Thanks!

Safeco field is a beautiful park and most seating is good. You can see the field layout and even views from sections here:

http://seattle.mariners.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/sea/ticketing/sea_seating_pricing.jsp?club_context=sea

I like to sit between 3rd and 1st (or just a bit out from them) in lower box or field. Keep in mind there is an overhang if you are back behind row 32 I think. Try to stay in front of that.

The great thing about this park is that no matter where you sit there are views of the city or the water, etc. Also you can walk all the way around the field without ever losing site of the game.

The A

I may be heading to an A's game next month so I'll let you know if I need help.

wendy

Thanks Wendy! The Oakland stadium will be a letdown after Safeco, but at least the team is good (and tickets are cheap). Try the fish sandwich at the Black Muslim Bakery.

Have to agree that you shouldn't lose sleep over your seats. You'll want to walk around some while you're there so your seat might be secondary. Safeco is a beautiful park with great views outside the park too. Fun atmosphere on the streets outside the park before the game.

Went to a game there last year, had seats 3 rows back from the roof but all things considered it wasn't bad. Plus we walked around a lot. The best thing in the world was standing by the bullpen watching the A's relief pitcher warming up. Can't remember his name but he can throw over 100/mph. The only thing separating you from the pitcher is a chain link fence. It was awesome. Have much more respect for hitters after being that close.

If you do end up in the nose-bleed seats, upper deck seats down the first base line into right field face towards the city and Puget Sound. Safeco is a great ballpark, but I've had better hot dogs.

today is opening day and it's quite exciting with all the people heading over and pre-funking on the way! Sorry about the double post, the first when went off before I was done, the second is the full story :)
