Does anyone have information, places to stay, restaurants, etc., on Seaside in Florida?

C,<BR><BR>It's been several years since we visited as well. But if Bud & Ally's is still there, it's a good restaurant and located on the beach at Seaside.<BR><BR>Another place that is fun (very casual) is Piccolo's in nearby Grayton Beach (perhaps a 5 minute drive West of Seaside); have dinner and then hang out in the attached Red Bar--or vice versa. Boy, I hope that place is still going strong.

Here's another endorsement for Piccolo's and the Red Bar.

Cafe 30A in Seagrove is our favorite. Also love Bud n Alley's. Many of the homes are for rent in Seaside, from small to large. Also, there is an inn and old fashioned "motor court" within the town. Would love to hear about your trip!

Seaside is where they filmed the Jim Carey movie "Truman" if you want to get a good look at it. If you want to say IN Seaside, you're going to have to rent one of the houses. <BR><BR>In October, I stayed in nearby Santa Rosa in a wonderful condo. I think its cheaper than Seaside and just as nice. You can always rent a bike a ride down to Seaside, which is also nice. <BR><BR>I'll try to remember the restaurant I tried near my condo that was really good and post it later.

We have been going to that area of Florida intermittently for about 12 years now. It is now much more developed, but the compensation is there are many more nice places to eat, and the beaches are still very pretty.<BR><BR>Yes, they filmed Truman in Seaside, but I don't think the portrayal of the town was accurate, it's really a lot prettier than that, and they added things, of course. Bud&Alley's is still good, and Basmatti's, which used to be in the town itself, has moved down 30A, expanded and improved.<BR><BR>The Seaside Realty Company is the main source for renting a house in Seaside, though there are several small inns--one is Josephine's, but I think there are others. Yes, other places are less expensive, but few are as fully realized in concept as Seaside. Actually, though, on our last visit we stayed down 30A at Seagrove Beach, which was more affordable and a lot less crowded. There are several realty companies active in property rentals, just look on your map and concentrate on 30A for location: Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton Beach, Dune Allen, etc., if you decide against Seaside itself.
