searching for the impossible-Tahoe
Our friends have an Rv, but we (2 aduts)don't.
Problem: we want to spend time together at Tahoe. We don't have to be in the same facility, but not too far apart, either. See what I mean by problem? Do you know of a place for us - RV park fairly close to a cabin/condo with cooking facilities? Thanks. |
Why not just rent an RV?
|
This may be not an answer, but when we stayed at Horison, south tahoe, we wondered why would an RVer would come all the way to stay in that hotel? They have a huge parking lot, RVs allowed.
But you're looking for a cooking facility... there may be inexpensive suites not far from Horizon. |
What if your friends stay in the very nice campground called General Creek located at Sugar Pine Point and you stay at the nearby Tahoe Lake Cottages in Tahoma?

to Suzie...
that's a perfect solution for us. Thanks a bunch! willis |
We just got back from our annual stay at General Creek. It's a really great campground, well treed and clean. They are diligent about keeping the bears out and have central showers which are pretty good. I can say that your friends should not stay in site 123 or 125 as those are really deserty with mostly manzanita and no trees. We always stay in the back section 126 - 175. Favorite sites are 165 148 and we think 164, 166, 168 are nice too. We just stayed at 163 and it's a small site but would be ok for an RV except the angle is odd for trying to back in. Don't stay in 169 as it is right across from the bathrooms and trash can. The light is on all night.

to Suzie:
You're an answer to my prayer!! what fantastic info you've provided for our friends. I, and they, thank you. |
You are welcome. Is this trip coming up soon? Here's teh link to the campground reservation:
http://ra2.reserveamerica.com/campsi...mp;search=site The thing I really like is that you are now able to select your campsite. For years you would have a reservation but you had to drive around to find the site and then race back to the entrance booth and hope no one else driving around beat you back to the booth and claimed your spot! whew! |
Check out Zephyr cove - lake front cabins with kitchens, campground just across the road, and I am almost positive the campground has RV sites.

Zephyr Cove is absolutely a good choice.
Lodging: http://www.zephyrcove.com/lodging_activities.php RV camping: http://www.zephyrcove.com/pr-park-campground.php Zephyr Cove is on the Nevada side very near the casino area if you were interested in entertainment. |
More great info. choices...choices!
