Searching for a New Orleans artist

On my last trip to New Orleans I saw some really great paintings in Jackson Square. I'm not sure if this artist is a regular or not. His paintings reminded me of Tim Burton's work only less child-like. The canvases were stretched across oddly shaped frames, some shaped slightly like hourglasses, off kilter rectangles, trapezoids, etc. The painting continued to the sides of the canvas so there would be no need for frames. He used lots of reds and blues. My favorite was a girl (done mostly in black) facing a red building. Does this artist sound familiar? If anyone knows him or his name or a way to purchase one of his paintings from out of state please contact me @ [email protected]
Thanks!
Stephanie

You might have better luck posting on craigslist. I think most cities have an art forum.

I'm not familiar with that artist but you might be able to find him by going to the Jackson Square Artists Association site & emailing them. Their site is www.jackson-square.com/fojs/news0001.htm

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. On the craiglist there was another person searching for the same artist I am... He hadn't found any leads yet either apparently.

I actually have three paintings by him. The paintings are pretty dark and it looks like haunted houses?? I just checked my wallet and I can't find his card. When I go home, I'll look at the painting and get you his name.
