Seafood in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach fans: What is the best casual restaurant for seafood, less than $30 per person( I'm taking a good sized group of relatives and I want to treat them all.) Are there any decent buffets (sacrilege!) I usually cook on vacation but want to have one night of nice fresh seafood and yummy hush puppies.

How about fresh oysters? Crabs? One of the best places in the entire world for fresh seafood is Creek Ratz. It is located in Murrells Inlet. It is about 7 miles south of MB on the highway.

Thanks very much for the suggestion.

Creek Ratz, Russells, and Biminis.

The cheapest buffet which we recently found that is excellent is Prossers BBQ. It is in Murrells Inlet, a dive, and the food is so good! They have fried shrimp, oysters, and flounder on the dinner buffet along with excellent BBQ.

Thanks Go Travel. Good to get information from people who know the area well. I really appreciate your guidance.

pilgrim, Mr.GoTravel and I stumbled upon Prossers BBQ in Murrells Inlet a couple of months ago on the way up to the mall. We saw all these cars and decided, what the heck, let's give it a try.

They had BBQ (third generation BBQ people, it's famous), mac and cheese, rice & gravy, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collards, butter beans, sweet potato cassarole, green beans, slaw, salad bar, fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried flounder and some other stuff I'm forgetting but it was only $9.95.

Think low country/seafood/soul food.

One last thing, Prossers BBQ doesn't have a menu so if you don't like what is on the buffet, you are SOL.

No problem. I don't need a menu--it sounds perfect!
