Seafood in Chicago?

Wondering if anyone out there has a suggestion for a good seafood restaurant in Chicago? Price is not a primary concern - am more interested in great food and ambiance - nothing too formal. Your recommendations are appreciated!

Sorry to disagree, but Shaw's is not well liked by locals - expensive and subpar food. Not in a very pleasing location either. You can find good seafood at most restaurants in the city. McCormick and Schmick is very good - almost exclusively fish/seafood. Joe's Stone Crab also very good, but don't expect the same quality stone crabs as in South Beach. Depending on when you visit, our best seafood restaurant will be opening right in the city (LaSalle and the river) in about two months - Bob Chinn's - excellent!

A new place that just recently opened up is Roy's. Roy Yamachugi has had great successes in Hawaii, so I'm sure this one will be a winner too.

I have not eaten at his Chicago location yet, but have heard some good things about it. I know his restaraunt on the island of Hawaii is oustanding.

Agree that Shaws is more for tourists. I like McCormick & Schmick.
