sea world or space center?
 

We will be in wdw for seven days and have an extra day.We can't afford to do both which would you pick our boys are 10,12?

In light of 9/11 security has been increased at the Kennedy Space Center. Attractions that were open prior to 9/11 are now closed to the public.

Adults like the Space Center. Kids like SeaWorld. I think that about covers it.

it's been a while...but KSC is mostly displays....moon rocks; space capsules; astronaut suits etc... I enjoyed it.....when it was free.

I'd say it depends on your kids' specific interests. If they seem to be specifically interested in space travel, go to Kennedy Space Center. If they're into sea life, go to Sea World. If they're not particularly interested in either, I'd say that Sea World is more interesting/fun on a general level. I remember going to Kennedy Space Center when I was about 13 and thought it was really boring, even though I was kind of interested in spaceflight at the time. We went to Sea World on the same trip and I thought it was a lot more fun.<BR><BR>Gail's suggestion for Islands of Adventure is true in that they will probably find it more fun if they're really into rides, but if you want them to get something vaguely educational out of it, I would vote for Sea World.

If you choose Sea World check into the backstage informative tours they offer. They're fairly small groups and are reasonably priced (I think in July they were $8 per person, although the brochure I was holding when I went to the information desk must have had a discount coupon in it somewhere because the man said he'd charge us $7 each because I had the coupon with me. That was news to me!)<BR><BR>We chose the tour that went behind the scenes at the penguin and polar bear exhibits. It was a memorable and informative tour. The polar bears had just finished eating and were playing with/mauling the giant plastic tubs that they put the food into. There was a 2-way window we could watch them through and they were really frisky. We also went into the penguin area and we got to hold apenguin if we wanted to. <BR><BR>Your boys would be the perfect age for these tours. Questions are encouraged and as a previous poster noted, if you're looking to throw in a little education Sea World is wonderful. (I'll also put in a good word for the Epcot tours. We did the one in The Land and my son was moved to turn his knowledge into a hydroponics project for the science fair.)

I went to Sea World for the first time. I didn't believe $50 would be worth a big zoo, boy was I wrong. 4 of us (25 years old) went and spent 12 hours and barely saw it all. the shows are incredible, the exhibits are fun, your guys will love it, and adults won't be bored. The Sea Lion show is by far the best!

Doug:<BR><BR>Since the weather is really gorgeous in Florida, I'd opt for Sea World. I love seeing marine mammals and being outside.
