Scuba Trip Maui suggestions

My husband and brother are planning on Scuba diving while on Maui. Last time we went, they only snorkeled and used a local tour group company. Any one been on an outstanding Scuba trip? I think they liked their previous trip ok...but it was pretty loaded with people. Any suggestions?

I don't dive myself, but many of my friends do. They all swear by B&B Dive Shop in Kihei. Ask a local diver, they'll tell you B&B.

Would be interested in this too, some friends are thinking about a trip to Hawaii and were talking about weather and visability of diving in July or August ? We found a lot of good information on Yahoo but also interested in any personal suggestions.

I've been a certified diver for 32 years and have gone diving around the world (Cayman Islands, Bahamas, Tahiti, Belize, Australia, and (of course) Hawaii, etc.) and I have to admit that the absolutely best dive I EVER took was with Mike Severns Diving in Maui. www.mikesevernsdiving.com
I was shown things under water that I'd never seen before (crown of thorns starfish for example), and because a number of the instructors are marine biologists, you get accurate information. I still remember it as one of the best experiences of my life, right up there with diving the Blue Hole in Belize in 1973.

One thing: he takes certified divers only, and I don't mean the courses offered by Sandals, etc. Bring your C card.

Thanks kama for the great suggestion. My husband is certified, and my brother is planning on taking courses soon. I am sure that they would rather use someone very knowledgable...i am primarily interested in their safety. I like the thought of their personel being marine biologists.
