Scottsdale Restaurants?

We're going to Scottsdale in Nov. and would love some restaurant recommendations. We live in a great food town and are often disappointed with restaurants when we travel - high prices and mediocre fare. We're looking for great places that don't break the bank. Any help is appreciated!

I spent a long weekend in Scottsdale in May, and my favorite meal was at Grazie in Old Town:

It was inexpensive, quaint, and so good!

The Breakfast Club had a great breakfast burrito, among other great choices mostly around or under $10.

We also really enjoyed Stingray Sushi, and I would not recommend Olive & Ivy. We had poor service and average, overpriced food in a chain-like atmosphere.

In general, I never got sticker shock at restaurants in Scottsdale, but if you don't have a car, be sure to negotiate the price before travelling in one of the many town cars available. We were charged $35 to travel about 1 mile, which we didn't realize til the next day when we walked by the restaurant we went to. Taxis are not as plentiful, but definitely worth calling and waiting, in my opinion.

We had a magical dinner at T. Cooke's at the Royal Palms Resort - it was an excellent meal in a beautiful setting. We also had breakfast there and it was top notch too. Great service too.

Medizona is quite good. Cowboy Ciao and Roaring Fork are way better, IMO. Los Sombreros is a delightful and delicious Mexican - not touristy and not expensive. A sure winner. Also visit chowhound.com for other recommendations.

Atlas Bistro is excellent, although when you see the location (in a strip mall), you'll question whether it is or not. They are attached to a very good wine shop where you can buy wine and drink it at the restaurant.
