Scottsdale Restaurant Help

Staying at the Four Seasons for 2 nites. Should we stay in the hotel or are there good restaurants in the area? We are then moving to Mesa for three nites for business.
Have to schedule some dinners for parties of about ten. Any suggestions? Last time we were in Scottsdale, we had a great time at a cowboy type place with dance lessons, etc.
Thanks for any help
Claudia

If you like BBQ (ribs, chicken, salmon),
I would recommend El Paso BBQ. They can easily accomodate a party of ten.
The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

If you don't mind driving a bit south, consider Los Sombreros, truly one of the best local restaurants in town. Central mexican food - totally unlike the gringo stuff. El Paso BBQ is a good chain like place, and does have great ribs. Other options for dinner with a local flair: Pinnacle Peak Patio, Rawhide (though I dont' think much of the food, the kids love this place).

If you don't mind something very casual, we went to a cowboy type restaurant across from the Four Seasons called Greasewood Flats. Everything is outdoors. There are big picnic tables, bonfires, dancing. Food is very casual; basically hamurgers and pork sandwiches but alot of fun with a group.

There are some very good restaurants in this area - Sassi and Mosaic are just south of the Four Seasons and are expensive, but they have good food and beautiful atmospheres. There are also three cowboy bars in the close vicinity - Pinnacle Peak Patio, the oldest steakhouse in Arizona, Greasewood Flats and Reata Pass. All three have live music and dancing. If you head north to Carefree and Cave Creek, Cartrights is very good and has a nice outdoor patio, as does Tonto Bar and Grill. The Cantina at El Pedregal has good Mexican food and is an interesting place to shop.
