Scottsdale Honeymoon

We are marrying in St John in November and would like to plan a honeymoon in the Scottsdale area during Christmas week. From online research I like the Sunburst, now Caleo Resort. Any opinions? Are there any hotel suggestions for quiet, romantic get aways? Thanks for your help.

My husband and I are in love with the Four Seasons down in scottsdale. Very romantic, secluded... absolutely amazing. We go almost every year to celebrate our anniversary.

Phoenecian Resort and Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix are close by and great choices. Boulders Resort in Carefree is also fairly close and a great place!

You HAVE to go see Sedona (2 hour drive) while you are there. Unbelieavable place. If you spend a night or two, stay at the Echantment Resort.

Sunburst has been here for years, in a good mid-Scottsdale location, just north of Camelback Road, on Scottsdale Road. I have not seen it since it changed hands, but I THINK I remember it being totally refurbished for the last year or so. November is the beginning of tourist times, so prices will be up by then and, not knowing your price range, I would suggest looking into Camelback Inn, Hermosa Inn, both very "Arizona" and good locations.....the Westin Kierland is very nice looking and good food, don't know about the rooms, nice location, imagine it is high priced.....

I just stayed at the Caleo (formerly Sunburst) for the second time. It is a very nice, small hotel with a cozy pool area (several interti\wining pools, one with a sandy beach and a bridge over it). The courtyard sidewalks wind through the grounds and have small fireplaces (portable like you buy at Target) with chairs beside them.

In October I paid $149/nt and last week (first week of June) I paid $79/nt. Both times I booked on orbitz well in advance for the best rate.

I like the Cadillac Escalade that will take you anywhere in a three mile radius from the hotel. Nice for going to breakfast at Pischke's (try the bananas foster french toast) or the Breakfast Cub (try the huevos rancheros or the steak and eggs).

The hotel has been completely updated over the past year and the rooms are very nice. My only complaint is that there isn't enough lighting in the bathroom area to put on makeup.

I would chose to stay at the Caleo for their modest prices and visit the Scottsdale Princess (Marquesa), the Hermosa (Lon's), and the Royal Palms (T. Cook's) for dinner. We also liked Malee's on Main in Old Town Scottsdale for Thai food before peering into all of the art galleries.
