School Term Dates 2001
 

Can anyone tell me when schools go back in January after the Xmas vacation. We want to time our visit to Disney World after the kids go back.

The term for each school is determined locally by the governing school board. City schools may vary from the county schools and may vary from city to city and county to county and district to district. Here, our schools will not start back until January 8th. That's probably a safe bet for most districts across the USA.

Joe, they usually go back a few days after New Years Day. I was at Universal Studios Orlando the 2nd week of January this year, and there was hardly anyone there. Hope this helps!

The times kids go back are wildly different, depending on state and whether you are talking public or private schools, or elementary, secondary, or college. The earliest anyone goes back is 2 Jan., but many schools won't go back 'til the 10th or even later. Some colleges have a winter intersession of a month that allows students to take one special course for that month, or not be in school at all. <BR>In general, however, it's probably safe to go toward the end of the second week of January.

After the first of the year. Jan. 3rd. To be safe, the week of 1/7/01. Note the parks close early/earlier when there are not a lot of visitors (kids). During the weeks around Easter, they are open 'till midnight. Other times until 9pm or even 5pm. <BR>
