Scenic Photos Spots near Chicago

Hi All:

We will be visiting the Chicago area this weekend. I am looking the best places for photo op’s. We are interested in natural beauty, especially the Lake Michigan coast. We are staying in Northbrook.

Thanks!

If you go into the city of Chicago, the whole city is a photo op.
If you are just staying in Northbrook the Chicago Botanical Garden is beautiful, you can also go along the North Shore of the north suburbs, many public parks have access to beach areas of Lake Michigan. The Bahai temple in Wilmette is also stunning for photo ops, as is the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston.

Lighthouse beach in Evanston has some great scenes...the lighthouse and the beach area is small but may give some great views.

The lagoons in the north suburbs may offer you some great scenes too, they are run by the cook county forest preserve.

Hope these are helpful, hopefully the weekend weather will cooperate.

Can't advice on natural beauty in the area but consider going near Shedd Aquarium at night for a postcard-perfect shot of the downtown. To me, it really is an awesome sight of a fun city.

I always thought these were interesting. Along the lake the 9 hole golf course would give you an interesting foreground. This 9-hole course runs along Lake Michigan and is located on the North Side at Addison and Lake Shore Drive

The best view is actually between Shedd Aquarium and the Planetarium. There's a grassy area there and people are always taking pictures there.

At the tip on Navy Pier.
Or from the Ferris Wheel at NP.

We walked all the way down past Oak Ave beach out to where they play AVP volleyball and got some very good pics of the shoreline looking back at Chicago.

Good suggestions. For skyline views and the lake, try the area around Belmont Harbor on the north side and the view along Lake Shore drive approaching the loop from the north side is pretty impressive. I know you're interested in natural beauty, but if you're a baseball fan, head to the corner of Clark and Addison for a shot of Wrigley Field.
