Of course, Al, you can be part of the family, Pup needs an older brother..my son refuses to admit that the Pup is his brother..sigh.
And any chef is a good chef in my eyes ((F))

Funny you should say that Mary Fran...a lady in our building has a Chinese Crested. Picture that next to a 55 lb Standard Poodle in need of a trim LOL one of them looks like something from Mars (and it isn't Pup)

I'm sorry- that dog comment should have been to buckeyemon :D
Mary Fran, I am already feeling proprietory over Portland..

btw-
We have to take our drivers test again to get our Oregon license..what a hoot! I can see it now- we will not pass and Pup will have to do the driving ~

It's raining in Portland!!
I am so glad to see Portland in a famous rainstorm. The wind is blowing and there are the most amazing and huge and beautiful clouds blowing by.
The skies here are entirely different from the NE skies I am used to or the flat skies of Florida.
Everyone seems happy to see rain.
It is cool, fall feeling and the air smells good.
I like it here :D

LOL Scarlett! I think I'll top this post in about six months and see how you're feeling about the rain then. You're right though, it sure feels nice today.

LoveItaly Aug 29th, 2005 06:19 PM

Hey Scarlett and beachbum, when you are through enjoying that Portland rain could you kind of push it down here to the Sacramento Valley? It would be soooo appeciated! Thank you in advance ;;)

Fodorite018 Aug 29th, 2005 06:44 PM

LOL Beachbum and LoveItaly:)

LoveItaly--Maybe the rain can come along with a hitchhiker I saw today. He was getting drenched in the rain on I-5 just south of Wilsonville, but he had a HUGE cardboard sign that said "Sacramento", lol!

Scarlett--I was in heaven walking in the rain this morning, as was our pup. That is my kind of weather as you know!

mms- I thought you might be liking a day like today :)

I was able to do some gardening on the terrace while it rained. I noticed no one was slowed down, a guy rode by on his bike, a couple walked down the sidewalk, talking, getting drenched! lol

Who is going to the Arts & Crafts Fair in the Park Blocks this weekend?

starrsville Aug 29th, 2005 09:09 PM

Sounds like Georgia weather. It's official - wettest year in history.

Enjoy the Left Coast, Scarlett. We'll miss you - but I know you won't miss the heat! Hugs to Pup!

LoveItaly Aug 29th, 2005 09:20 PM

Hey mms, I told my neighbor as we sat outside having a glass of wine that it was raining in Portland and she almost looked as she wanted to cry, LOL. Hope the hitchhiker brings some of the rain with him...do you think there is any chance?

Scarlett Aug 29th, 2005 09:46 PM

Love, I promise you, just when you don't want it to rain, you will get all the rain you can stand LOL

It stopped here, maybe it is on it's way South...

LoveItaly Aug 29th, 2005 10:06 PM

Oh Scarlett dear, you think??????? That would be real fantastic. I will give all the credit to you if we do get some rain. It would wash down the dust, clean the trees and shrubs etc. I will buy your two dinner when I am in Portland if we get some beautiful rain in the next few days! Oh, Pup will get a treat from me also!! Hugs.

Hi friend - I'm glad you're enjoying Portland and I enjoyed your report of the trip.

Your report reminded me of an old joke that circulated for years in the west: "What is the English translation of the Spanish words 'La Quinta'?

The answer, of course is: "Next to Denny's".

Scarlett Aug 29th, 2005 10:42 PM

Love, I do enjoy getting the credit for All good things..will look forward to that dinner with you :)

dwooden! How are you? :D
Funny! Yes, Dennys and Applebys. A girl could starve staying in those hotels!
