Savannah and more
 

My husband and I are driving to Savannah and want some ideas for a side trip. Since Savannah will have history and restaurants, we are looking for a golf or beach extension. We want some place close to Savannah if possible.

Tybee is the closest beach. Further south are Jekyll and St Simons. Golf is available at each of those. To the east are choices in SC. Further south are choices near Jacksonville in Florida.

Where are you driving from?

Hilton Head Island is a popular destination one hour from Savannah with many golf courses, a beautiful beach, and an extensive selection of hotels and condos.

We will be driving from Lexington, KY. We have been to Hilton Head and wanted to find a new place for beach and golf.

One option about 93 miles south is Jekyll Island, which is a simpler, lower key island option.

Not sure which price point you would prefer

Just saw a commercial for Sea Island on PBS and they are offering a special that includes unlimited golf. Now, that would be SWEET!
