Savannah airport to Hilton Head island, one-way transportation?
 

Planning a trip to the south end of HH island. Folks I spoke with said that there are shuttles from the SAV airport to the island, so I booked a trip arriving at SAV but leaving from HHH (have a departure drop-off but not an arrival pick-up). After calling Gray Line, I found that they discontinued their shuttles last year (I obviously received dated info). Their private (town car) transport is $100.00

Does anyone know of other means of one-way transportation that won't cost as much? With all the folks who fly into SAV for golf vacations, I can't believe that all would rent a car or use taxi service.

I found an answer after a bit of searching. Since the airports SAV and HHH are so close to one another, the rate for renting at SAV and returning to HHH is about the same as a rental picking up and returning to SAV. Therefore, a single-day rental can be had from Alamo under forty bucks for a mid or full-size car. Better than the $100+ tip that Gray Line is offering.

So then are you driving to HH, dropping luggage and returning the car and taking a shuttle back to your HH place? Just interested.

I'd keep the car... how else will you get around?

Meeting other folks driving down there who will have cars for the week. They arrive late on the day of my arrival, so will have a way back from HHH airport on the next day. Have a dropoff at HHH as well.

Thanks for the tip. I had already reserved a Gray Line trip for $100 so I cancelled the reservation and booked a one-way rental SAV-HHH with Alamo for $32. A great idea, thanks.
