Sausalito/San Francisco Weekend in July!( Inn Above Tide/SF Giants trip) Tell me where we should eat!

We are traveling to Sausalito to stay at Inn Above Tide for two nights next month and I'd love some restaurant and logistical suggestions, if you have them. Here's the deal:
We will arrive around 10 pm on Friday night... are there any bars near the hotel that have a decent bar menu at that hour? Just a snack will be fine...

On Saturday, game time will be at 6 pm, so should we take the ferry over and walk/taxi during the day and home or will it be easier to have a car? I am concerned that the ferry doesn't run late in the evening and it may be difficult to find a taxi back to Sausalito at that hour.

For Saturday I'm interested to find a spectacular restaurant for a lunch that is upscale, yet not pretentious. Any suggestions?

Thanks in adavance!

If you are driving, head about 7 miles north to the Larkspur Landing. Ferries are available from there directly to the Park.

There are several very good restaurants in Sausalito.

Two that are somewhat touristy, but have good food are Scomas

The Spinnaker. http://www.thespinnaker.com/

I mention these because they both have very good views of the Bay.

For bars, these are very walkable.

nt - to each his own.

Zagat gives is a rating somewhere between Scomas and The Spinnaker.

It just seems to me that out-of-town folks would be more interested in a seafood restaurant that a pizza-pasta house.

Just my take.

Thank you for the wonderful suggestions... I will look at all of the websites! I live on the Central Coast ( Santa Maria) and work in Santa Barbara so we get plenty of seafood and the ocean views... and my boys are huge SF Giants fans so we are in SF fairly often... several times a year... but usually eating at the ballpark, Lefty O'Douls,Pizza my Heart and places like that!

This is a birthday trip and I'm looking for really nice and convenient. Other than grabbing the ferry and getting to the game on time... there will be no set schedule! Just s;eeping in, enjoying the views, walking around and exploring. My favorite kind of trip!

The Slanted Door at the Ferry Building would be special for your birthday. You may have to do a late lunch.

If you are inclined to eat lunch on the Embarcadero, I would recommend Coqueta--Michael Chiarello's fairly new Spanish style restaurant.

Well, I got my ferry reservations in time for the Saturday game ( thanks Rastaguy) but I was too late for Coqueta and there are no tables avilable! Next time...

Looks like the weather will be cool so I'm packing sweaters and long pants rather than shorts and tank tops!

Am hoping the Giants are refreshed after Lincecum's no hitter and can beat the Diamondbacks on Saturday!

Lynne, Coqueta has an add-on section that I think doesn't take reservations. We ate lunch - sat at the little counter watching the world go by. Good and fun.

The Buckeye Roadhouse could suit you for lunch on Saturday. It is a cool old building, and it's very popular.

"Am hoping the Giants are refreshed after Lincecum's no hitter and can beat the Diamondbacks on Saturday!"

As do all Giants fans!!!!
And yup, expect it to be in the 50's Friday night at the game, although it should be in the 70's in the City during the day. So you know the routine--layers.
