Sausalito kid friendly dinner

My wife and I are going to a kid exploritorium the 26th of Dec. Plan on spending the day in sausalito and wanted to see what everyones suggestion was for a kid friendly restaurant in the area without going into SF.

Willing to spend a few bucks but not over the top expensive, would like to stay around $50 + tax and tip

sausalito tends to be pretty much a kid friendly place.

some popular places along the tourist path are:

angelino and poggio for italian food and also pizza

spinnaker has amazing views and considering the tourist trade it has pretty good american food.

if there is a particular cuisine you are interested i could give you some other recommendations.

Do you mean the Exploratorium? You do know that it's in San Francisco, not in Sausalito?

i just picked up on the 'kid exploratorium'

is it the exploratorium in s.f. ? if so, it is right across the bridge to sausalito.

if it is the kids discovery museum in sausalito, well, then you are already here and murray circle at cavallo point is a walk away.
great views, good american food, pricier than poggio or spinnaker.

Yes it was Kid discovery musueam in Sausalito and not the one in SF.

Thanks for great tips and sorry I forgot to mention our son is only 16 months old so that may change some of your suggestions but were looking for something that has several options for a child this young to enjoy.

he eats most things like pasta (except spagetti not liking the long noodles yet) steak, chicken, etc..

Pizza is still too fancy and does not care for it yet.

Will check out some of these places and thanks again everyone.

Checked out spinnakers, way to upscale for a 16mo old. We sat down at spinnakers for about 5 min before our son started to go into meltdown mode. Got right up and went along the main road and found a fish and chip place that was cheap and very noisy. While it was not near as nice as spinnakers would have been it took the stress off of us with our son.

As we walked further down the main road after dinner we found another place that looked like it was better food choices and very kid friendly. I think it was a taste of Rome or something similar to that.

Anyway thanks for the suggestions, we had a great time otherwise at the discovery museam and would suggest it to anyone with small kids.

i'm so sorry that spinnaker did not work out for you.

the restaurants that i recommended were based on the $$ you were looking to spend for the evening.
having been a resident of sausalito with a young child, we often entertained out of town guests at these restaurants.

anyway, at least you found a place that worked and was less stressful and you enjoyed the discovery museum.
we practically lived in it from age 8 mos to 8 years.

The restaurant on the bay is nice. I can't remember the name. I think it was a Houlihan's at one time. Great atmosphere
