Saturday lunch in Midtown

Please recommend favorites for leisurely lunch in Midtown on a Saturday - prefer French or Italian. It seems most of the better restaurants that serve lunch during the week are closed for lunch on Saturdays.

On the contrary, you have a wide, wide choice on Saturday. How about an idea on price.
One suggestion: If you're planning on eating anywhere in midtown, make your reservations for 2 p.m., so that you don't get in the middle of the pre-theater crowd.

Go to Jean-Georges. The Nougatine area has a $20 prix fixe. The other idea is the brunch at Cafe Botanica at the Essex House. Aquavit is another option but it Scandinavian.

Thank you, Howard. Price not an issue - service and quality of food are main concern.

We love Norma's for brunch. They have the best pancakes in the city! The rest of the food is also delicious. It's in the Parker Meridien hotel.
