Saratoga, worth a peek?

We will be in the Saratoga area just as horse racing is beginning, sleeping elsewhere. Is it worth a few hours to see the town itself? Its not like we don't get to see Victorian houses elsewhere (such as Ferndale, Ca.) but if Saratoga is especially wonderful, we'll see it too. What do you think?

It is a very nice area and worth the drive around. But it will be very busy and crowded.

We lived in the area for 2 years and loved it. So much to see, and the downtown area was nice. It will be crowded, but I think that adds to the atmosphere.

We like the state park & baths, but in race season you'll find crowds.
